The Master Of Speech

The Master Of Speech Overview

The Dogon are an isolated African tribe who live along a 200-kilometre stretch of escarpment called the Cliffs of Bandiagara near Timbuktu. Their religion, which was recorded in 1946 by the French anthropologist Marcel Griaule, is one of the most ancient mythologies in existence in the world today.

Shannon Dorey's research indicates the Dogon religion was one of the mystery pagan religions thought to have been lost to humanity. She believes most known religions and world mythologies have emanated from the Dogon religion.

According to Dorey, when it was created, the religion's continuity was established through its symbolism rather than through its chronology. The religion was deliberately created this way to protect it from outside influence.

Dorey believes that the unique structure of this religion suggests it was created in an oral culture. This is why it has been so difficult for researchers to understand it. Because we live in a written culture, its composition is foreign to our way of thinking.

The Dogon talked of alien beings called Nummo who were associated with both the Sirius star system and the Pleiades. According to the Dogon, these immortal and amphibious beings were responsible for human creation through genetic engineering.

According to Dorey, the first important symbol found in Ogotemmêli's conversation with Griaule is the symbol of the "word" itself. The "word" was used as a metaphor for the DNA of the biologically engineered humans. This was because speech was synonymous with intelligence and the only way the Earth animals were able to speak was when their DNA was combined with the Nummo's DNA. The "word" was a key symbol and was used throughout to describe the three different versions of the biologically engineered humans.

Dorey related the Dogon use of the "word" as a symbol of DNA to the passage found in the biblical book of John. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. John 1:1 ... The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." John 1:14

In Dogon mythology the "word" was symbolic of DNA. In this passage the "word" or the DNA became flesh. The "word" was with God and the "word" was God. In Dogon mythology it was the Nummo's DNA or "word" that was combined with the Earth animals to create humans.

In Dogon mythology it was the DNA of "the Master of Speech" that was supposed to provide hope for humanity and correct the mistakes made from the first failed biological experiment. This androgynous pagan saviour was eventually turned into the male Christ figure of Christianity.

When Griaule and another anthropologist Germaine Dieterlen were doing research on the Dogon, they also learned from the tribe that Sirius was a triple star system. At the time, the Sirius system was believed to have been a binary system. Modern astronomers only discovered the third star in the system in 1995. The Dogon told Griaule they had obtained their knowledge from the amphibious Nummo.

The Master of Speech discusses the connections between paganism, Christianity, Judaism, and the Greek and Egyptian mythologies. It reveals the connection of the Zodiac to this mythology and refers to the destruction of the Earth as told in Plato's Timaeus relating to Atlantis. It talks about the human unconscious and our relationship to time and immortality.
